BREAKING: Trump admin. authorizes more resources to Portland after arrest of conservative influencer

The Trump Administration is planning to ramp up pressure on Portland and the state of Oregon following the arrest of a conservative social media influencer at the city’s embattled ICE facility, Thursday night.

In the daily press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump had authorized even more resources to come to Portland.

Leavitt also said the President is looking at options to cut federal funding to the city due to a rise in "Antifa" related incidents

"We will not fund states that allow anarchy," Leavitt told reporters.

The latest developments follow the arrest of conservative influencer Nicholas Sortor. Sortor, 27, was arrested by Portland Police Thursday night. He was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a fight outside of the ICE facility in South Portland.

PPB officers arrested two other people along with Sortor. All three are scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. Friday.

In the press briefing, Leavitt claimed Sortor was “defending himself” from “left-wing protesters.” She also criticized Portland Police for arresting “a journalist who was there to document the chaos.”

Leavitt said there would be a “full investigation” into PPB by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
