Can Pakistan and Afghanistan end their border conflict in Qatar peace talks? | DW News

Delegations from Pakistan and Afghanistan have arrived in Doha in an attempt to defuse the week-long conflict along their border that has left dozens dead. The dead include three local Afghan cricket players, according to Taliban. After the cross-border strikes killed the three local athletes, Afghanistan pulled out of a cricket tournament with Pakistan. Pakistan says it killed militants.

Afghanistan's Taliban rulers are accused of supporting militant groups within Pakistan. Kabul denies that. The Taliban accuse Islamabad of violating a truce which had briefly paused the fighting. It's the worst conflict since the Taliban came to power four years ago.
