UKRAINIAN DRONE ATTACK HITS RUSSIA; OIL TERMINAL NEAR ST. PETERSBURG ABLAZE

Ukraine has targeted an oil terminal near Saint Petersburg as Russian President Vladimir Putin prepares to open the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The facility is one of Russia's largest fuel storage and export terminals. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack saying that Ukraine also struck an arms factory in the Tambov region.

MORE THAN 1,000 U.S. TROOPS BEGIN WITHDRAWING FROM LITHUANIA

More than a thousand U.S. troops have begun leaving Lithuania after completing their deployment, while questions remain as to when their replacements will arrive. Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas says Vilnius has received assurances that another U.S. contingent will be sent, but no timeline has been announced.


EU TO TIGHTEN MIGRATION RULES?

The European Union is moving closer to some of its toughest migration measures after lawmakers reached a late-night agreement on new rules for handling illegal migration. The deal will give authorities broader powers, including the ability to transfer rejected asylum seekers to third countries.
