Mexican drug kingpin 'El Mayo' sentenced to life in prison

Mexican drug kingpin Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada was sentenced in a U.S. court on Monday to life in prison.

Prior to his arrest in 2024, Zambada, one of the most powerful drug lords in the world, was a key target for the U.S. government for years in its bid to take down leaders of the Sinaloa cartel.
