Sky News speaks to the Chinese pastor freed in extraordinary deal with the US

Sky's Asia correspondent Helen-Ann Smith holds the first on-camera interview with Pastor Ezra Jin - who was released from prison in China earlier this month and sent to the United States.

Pastor Jin was arrested in October, amid China's largest swathe of arrests targeting Christians for decades. He says the conditions he experienced in detention were "incredibly tough", and he "could never have imagined" the circumstances around how he was eventually freed.

Jin is a Chinese citizen, but Donald Trump personally raised his case with Xi Jinping in Beijing in May. While securing his release appears to be a diplomatic coup, the Trump administration's total silence on the case raises questions about what concessions China might be seeking in return.
