President Donald Trump spoke at the 2026 Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Policy Conference, sounding the alarm on communism.

“The biggest thing we have to do is we have to stop this horrible threat of cancer that’s permeating our country, called communism,” Trump said. Trump also warned Democrats about the slew of self-proclaimed democratic socialists who have gained ground in New York.

House Republicans say Democrats are headed for an internal battle after democratic socialist candidates scored high-profile primary wins. Now, a group of moderate Democrats are publicly pushing back, saying the party needs to promote a centrist message.

Members of the Religious Liberty Commission presented Trump with its final report, which highlights threats to religious freedom in the United States and recommends 12 actions to strengthen it.
