As pressure grows from China, Russia and North Korea, the US and its allies are moving to link their military capabilities into a new “kill web” across the Indo-Pacific. Bringing together Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and other partners, this approach aims to integrate sensors, weapons and command systems into a single, coordinated network. Unlike traditional “kill chains,” a kill web enables faster, more flexible responses across multiple domains. This evolving strategy could reshape how deterrence works along the First Island Chain. In this episode, we examine how a kill web functions, why it is gaining momentum and what it could mean for Taiwan and the future of regional security.
