Stephen A. sits down with Steve Hilton, a former senior advisor to British Prime Minister David Cameron, former Fox News host, and conservative politician currently running for Republican governor of California. Despite facing a "27 point problem" in a recent Emerson poll where he trails Xavier Becerra by 27 points, Hilton discusses the momentum his campaign is seeing, including support from lifelong Democrats. He dives deep into Hilton's practical plans for the state, including establishing $3 gas, making the first $150,000 of income tax-free, lowering vehicle registration to $73, and addressing homelessness. Hilton also addresses his track record of working across party lines, noting support from Democrats like Katie Porter on his tax plan and his past experience in a coalition government in the UK. The conversation heats up as we tackle his stance on Donald Trump, the exodus of businesses from California, and his controversial plan to end state-funded Medi-Cal coverage for undocumented immigrants. Finally, Hilton warns of the rising influence of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in Los Angeles and the broader implications for the state's future.
